Can you help me to find the meaning to my first name? I am female and my mother has an Indian background.

I cant vouch for this, but according http://www.kaeori.net analyzes the name Marisha as being related to Mari Risha (Sanskrit/Hindi), a goddess, daughter of the wind and moon.

Risha in Sanskrit means "Sainty". There is a male version Rishi which means a Saint.

I know how it is, but when my mama named me she got out of the baby which I happen to have with us still. I've read that it is a Russian name derived from Mariska meaning Mary, but on the internet I've also seen Marisha-Ten who is the Japanese goddess of Heaven, light, moon, and sun, but so far I havn't found books of Marisha-Ten to back that up.
