Probably a form of SolomonSOLOMON m Biblical, English "peace" from the Hebrew name Shlomo. Solomon was a king of Israel, the son of David, renowned for his wisdom. Supposedly, the Book of Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and the Song of Solomon in the Old Testament were written by him.
