What is the pronounciation and origin of Zaira? Or does it have various origins and pronounciations? ( I read recently on an other messageboard it's the Irish form of Sara. Is this true? If so, how is it pronounced in Ireland?)

I found Zaira being an Arabic name meaning "Splendor."

my roommate is Irish- says it is pronounced just like Sara. The "Z" is pronounce like a "S" and the "AIR" is pronounced just like it is read, and the "A" at the end is just how it would sound

with "and the 'air' is pronounced just like it is read", do you mean air is in what's in the sky, or more like eye, so it would be s-eye-rah?
