"Xiomara" is a variation of the name "Guiomar", which is of German derivation and means: "famous in battle".
On the 1990 U.S. Federal Census, "Xiomara" was recorded as being the most popular feminine name in the U.S. beginning with the letter "X". Not that there are that many popular feminine names beginning with "X", as "Xiomara" ranked #1,635 in popularity among all feminine names recorded that year.
I wonder if this most recent census for the year 2000 will show "Xena" as being the most popular X-Woman name?
