Japanese
I was playing around with the database and looking at Japanese names since I'm totally in love with them. This reminded me of a book that I had read last summer. One of the character's names was AKIKO - in one part of the book it makes fun of the Americanized pronounciation of the name A-Kee-Ko (funny enough, that's exactly how I had pronounced it as I read it), it never tells you how to truly pronounce it. Does anyone have a clue of the real pronounciation?

Hi,
You are very close to the real pronounciation. Try not to read the "A" as a single letter, but as in "march".
For me is simple, as I am a romanian and we have almost the same way of reading the words as japanese people.
Their language is very simple......

Yeah, that's how I've been reading it. Maybe the novel assumed that people would prounonce it A (as in the letter) kiko.
Thanks
