Tharsilla Tarsilla Thrasilla Trasilla
Somebody asked me about the meaning of the name of a 6th century Saint called Tarsilla or similar:
http://www.catholic-forum.com/saints/saintt73.htm
http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/15026a.htm
It seems that the corresponding male forms like Thrasyllus existed already in classical Rome, as can be seen for example here:
http://www.nickcampion.com/nc/history/roman.htm
And the following site (whose reliability I can't judge) lists Thrasyllus together with a number of other names starting with 'Thras' as Greek names:
http://babynames.indastro.com/greektwomT.html
However, informations about the *meaning* of all these probably related names are nowhere in sight...
Any ideas?
