Teagan as a boy's name
Hi. My wife and I are expecting our first child any day now, We like Teagan (spelling and all) if it is a boy, but we are getting conflicting information from the Web about the name Teagan as a boy's name. Some name sites list it as a boy's name and some as a girl's name only.
You folks seem to know your stuff, so my simple question is, is naming a boy Teagan normal enough to keep people from mocking him for the rest of his life, or is it so female-specific that we should not even consider it. I'd appreciate any opinions.

Facts about Teagan
Teagan is a misconception of two names:
1.- Tegan -- pronounced TEH-gun, is a Welsh, female name that means "fair"
2.- Tadhgan --pronounced TIEG-an, is a diminutive form of Tadhg, a boys, Irish, Scottish name. It means "little poet"
(You can verify the info, by clicking on the hyperlinks)
So, Teagan, spelled like this, could be a bad English translation of the name Tadhgan mixed up with the Irish name Tegan. However, it is the commonly known, English version of Tadhgan.
Your baby boy should be safe, bearing it, as it is supposed to be either for boys or girls. Unless you want to use the good-old version, Tadhgan. And then, explain for the rest of your life, how it is pronounced.
Hope this helps,
Magia.
