I have a weird name!
I just recently became aware of how rare my name is. Everyone thinks my name is "beautiful and interesting" but I'm not so sure anymore. I just finished looking up what my name means and... I found that "Mia" mean "My beloved" or "My" in latin. The other half to my first name is "Katrina" which means "Pure" in German and "Torturor" in Greek/Latin. So... all in all, my name, Mia Katrina, means "My beloved Torturor." Great name yes? =\

There's no reason to think the Greek/Latin "torturor" definition has anything to do with the use of your name. Sure, you can take almost any name and find out that the same syllables mean something awful in some language. That doesn't mean the name COMES from that language. Purity is a trait parents have long desired for their daughters. I'm sure women named Katrina (or Catrina, Katarina, Katharine, etc.) should be looking to German for the true source and meaning of their names.
Better keep that meaning to yourself...
