~ Hi, my name is Samra. I actually don't know much about it other that it is a feminine name and that it might be of middle-eastern descent, even though I am not. My mother was once told that it was a combination of Samantha and Raymond(Sam+Ray-y=Samra) but it's doubtful. Apparently, while searching on your messageboards, I found out there is a city in Iraq with my name. While I worked at Knott's Berry Farm Theme Park here in Southern California, I had a couple of people come up to me and tell me the meaning of my name, though I don't know how accurate they were. One fellow told me it was a positive term meaning something like "desert" or "brown haired" (funny thing though is that I am a natural bright blonde lol). Another man (who was rather rude I might add) said it meant (Excuse the language please!!! I don't mean it as insulting but this is what he said to me) it was a slang term for "nig*er" which I hope is NOT true. Another suggested definition I found was "dark-skinned" or "tan", which I definately am not being white. lol. Anyways I was just going to say if you could add it to the website somehow that would be awesome. And maybe find out if there is more to the name as well. I am also posting this to the messageboards so that other Samra's and such can respond. Thank You!
