I know it is from the name KARL, but I've read different variants like "korol" or "kral", so what exactly is the Czech word for "king"?

The word for king in some Slavic languages (Czech, Serbian "kral", Polish "krol", Russian "korol") are derived from the personal name of Charlemagne.

The Russian word "czar" is derived from the family name of Julius Ceasar.
