Namesakes and origin of my name!
Hi all!
First of all I was named after the late actress Ava Gardner and was wondering why she isn't listed as a namesake under the name, as it is a fairly uncommon one and doesn't have many namesakes. I was also wondering if any the the entymologists here could help me out on whether or not my name is related to the name "Avis" meaning bird as I have heard it has, but mostly I think of my name as another form of Chava or Eve.
Hope you can help!
Ava :)

BTW Eve can be a name given to mean 'woman' or 'temptress' as in biblical Eve, and 'twillight' or 'night' as in the English word eve.
The etymologists here may be able to help you, but the entomologists could only tell you if your name is related to aphid. ;)
Oh yes :) And the endymatologists will tell you if your shirt matches with your shoes :P
The enigmatologists here kick Kabalarian heinie when it comes to telling you the secret *anagram* meaning of your name.
