While searching Google.com (The Mother of All Search Engines -- go nowhere else!), I thought we had an Irish connection as well.
There are one or two sites listed on Google that mention "Nyah" in the context of an Irish Xena, but I think it's strictly role-playing or wishful thinking as I can't substantiate use of the name from any "conventional" Irish sources. We've got some folks on here with a lot better Irish knowledge base than me who, as Nan says, may be able to tell us more. Here's hopin'. Later!
