My mother-in-law passed away recently, and our family has been searching for the meaning of her middle name. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

"Avara" is apparently Finnish for "wide open spaces", so perhaps there is a Finnish connection to your mother-in-law's name. I hope the true meaning is a little more poetic.
