My middle name is Hilmar. I know it is a Swedish male name, that it is rather rare, and that it is not the same as Hjalmar. It is my grandfather's name, in fact but no one in my family knows what it *means* - symbolically or metaphorically. Do you? (A thought - if you know the Swedish language, perhaps you can tell me what the parts mean, ie, "Hil" and "Mar".) Tak!
