Tremayne is French it is means protector. Other versions of it is Tramaine, Treemayne, Trem, Tremain, Tremaine, Tremane, Tremen.

I've come across a similar name, Tremaine (also Tremayne). It's given a variety of meanings but the consensus seems to be that it's Cornish and that its meaning is something to do with 'stone town'. If you want to research it further, a Google search for Tremaine is probably the way to go.
