Would the name Melaina be pronounced meh-LAYN-a in English? Wishful thinking, perhaps ... I suspect it's far more complicated ;-)

Having only ever known one woman named Melaina, I can't say with any certainty, but I'm pretty sure it's just pronounced meh-LAYN-uh.

I would say meh-lie-nah (eh being like mEn), but who knows? lol
