I am trying to find the meaning and origin of my middle name: Luduska. My greatgrandmother was Sarah Ludusky Ham... but I can't find where Luduska(y) comes from. ANY HELP?????

Pavlos, Where's my answer? I'm a red head but feeling a little blonde by your answer (or lack thereof)
LOL! Please dont go rushing to your hair salon. I posted a link to a previous BtN inquiry about Luduska, answered by Nanaea (also a non-blonde).
In her post, Nanaea noted that Luduska (as well as "Ladusky", "Ludusky", "Laduska" and "Loduska")were popular during the 19th century, but are now obsolete in the U.S.A. All of these names are variations of "Louise ", derived from the Germanic/Swedish/Slavic forms: "Ludovika", "Ludwiga", "Ludoisia", etc.
Your very existence proved Nanaea wrong, regarding the "obsolete" part: Luduskas are alive and kicking, and not some extinct jurassic relic!
