Where does Munar and Munna come from?
I have been researching my family PARKER for years, and my grandmothers surname was either MUNAR or MUNNA. I have documents that shows both, either MUNAR or MUNNA. Her birth records (1890) were burned in a courthouse fire in Baltimore. Nothing has been found on Mary Agnes MUNAR or MUNNA's parents. Mary Agnes MUNAR or MUNNA was placed in an Orphanage in Baltimore (about 1891-1900), and raised by Catholic Nuns (as per my mother, she also says the surname is MUNNA). I've contacted all the orphanages that contain records between those years in or near Baltimore. . But Mary Agnes MUNAR or MUNNA's marriage license, wedding announcment, and marriage application says MUNAR. Her SSI says MUNNA, as does her death certificate (as my mother was the Informat).Does anyone have an answer, or even a clue? Thanks so much.
