There's no such thing as a "Native American Indian" name - there are a large number of different Native American languages for names to come from (you wouldn't say that Mario was "European" - you'd say it was "Italian" - you can't generalise that way with Native American names either).

See if you can find a documentary source which gives a clear indication of what language Tehya comes from and positively identifies it as meaning "precious" in that language. If you can find such a reference, email it to Mike C, who will verify it and add Tehya to the database (eventually!).
