Meaning of Name: Taise (tie-eese)
Could someone find out the meaning of this name. It was given to my adopted daughter so I don't know any other information on where this name may have been given. The gender is female. As far as ethnic backgroud is concerned, I dont know but if it helps my daughter is of hispanic (puerto rican) decent.

We named our daughter Taise after a local princess, who also gave her name to one of the Glens of Antrim where we live.
"Taise" is the Irish Gaelic for "soft" or (unknown to us pre-Christening!)"damp" and is pronounced "Taysha" by Irish Gaelic speakers: in Antrim it tends to be pronounced "Tays".
I attach a link to [provide a bit more about Princess Taise of Rathlin, being the Northern Irish island from which my family come:

Thank you Siri for your response :)
Taise looks to be like a created name.
I may be wrong, though. However, it does have the look, and sound, of a named merely created for the way it sounded.

Hmmm well I've come across a girl from Lithuania who has a net username "Taise"......... she says it was inspired from historic/legendary woman who was famed for her beauty.
However she may have interperated it into English slightly wrong.
