Re: Simon
Simon to me is almost exactly like Oliver - it's not dated, but it isn't hip, and it's sort of a 'brainy' name to me, usually on men whose power comes from wit instead of brawn.I like Simon better than Oliver though; it's been on my list for a long time, while Oliver has fallen off. I guess it seems less dated, or else its date is a couple decades later, in my mind.. it's vaguely 80s to me. The only 80s Simon I'm thinking of right now is S. LeBon of Duran Duran, but I'm pretty sure there are others. Oliver makes me think of Oliver Twist.. oh, and Oliver North; and of a really bright, tiny kid named Oliver who I went to grade school with.edited to add: Sorry I got carried away on the Oliver thing, but it really is that similar "feeling" to me to Simon. - chazda
