I imagine a nice, rather plain girl.

I really like this name. It reminds me of someone sensitive, somewhat waifish maybe and soft-spoken. I think its a great, underused classic.

I like Alice very much. Sometimes I prefer Alicia (pron. A-LEE-cee-uh, not A-LEE-suh), sometimes Alice, depending on my mood. I imagine a dark haired girl with big brown eyes and a quiet, somewhat shy personality.
EDIT: pron. guide added :-)

I like Alice very much. I could never consider it for my child because it rhymes with my last name. Because I watched more Alice in Wonderland than Brady Bunch I imagine a beautiful blonde with blue eyes. I have never known any real, live, women named Alice, so I have no real preconceptions about what she might be like.

I had a cute friend in high school named Alice. She was a petite brunette with brown hair and blue eyes and freckles. She was so cute but I don't care for the name-other than my old friend I picture a frumpy girl! It's just too "old lady" for me.

I love it. Alice has been out of vogue so long that it is appealingly fresh again. It is classic yet unconventional at the same time.

Being highly influenced *nice little pun* by Jefferson Airplane (one of the best bands to ever exist), and the actual book by Lewis Caroll....I tend to associate Alice with psychedelics. I can't escape the picture of a blonde haired blue eyed girl. She would be a book nerd and rather introverted, I happen to get a somewhat creepy image of an Alice, almost the sort to be quietly plotting the destruction of the school, that sort of thing. lol. I have no idea why but that's what comes to mind.

I prefer Alison...Alice just seems fuddy-duddyish to me. I think of a quiet bookworm.

It's one of my very favorite names! Because the name Alice has been so popular off-and-on throughout the centuries, there are a million different images that come to mind--so I don't have one easy answer. I think it's a name that could easily fit a wide range of little girls, and could carry them all gracefully into adulthood. That said, the name has definate hippie connotations for me: the first images that come to my mind are "Alice in Wonderland," psychedelics (especially with regard to Jefferson Airplane's song about Alice in Wonderland), and "Alice B. Toklas brownies" (as in the brownies you might eat while reading "Alice in Wonderland").

I love the name. My little cousin (14) is named Alice, she is a high school freshman cheerleader, very petite and cute. I also imagine Alice in Wonderland. DH and I finally knew a young woman (22-23) named Alice who was heavyset, wore glasses, had very short hair and was an obsessive academic. She was also vindictive and mean, so I would never use this name. DH and I like and would use Alicia.

I do like it, but I prefer Alicia. I know someone named Alice, so I'm biased as far as my opinions on what an Alice would look like. :)

I think Alice is very pretty and underrated. I think of a pretty blonde girl with blue eyes. (Yes, I watched a lot of Alice in Wonderland.)
