Aubrey?

What do you think of Aubrey for a boy?
I will probably get shot for saying this but I like it better on a girl. I have no probelms with it on a boy but I would only use it for a girl. Yes, I know the girls have Audrey but to me B is softer and more feminine than D.
What do you think of this combo:
Aubrey Seamus Maximilian
Do you think Aubrey for a boy will become popular?
No, nor do I think Aubrey will become extremely popular for girls. With the resurgence of old fashioned sweet names like Emma and Isabelle, Audrey may increase in popularity.
Slightly off topic, I was watching Halloween and they mentioned Michael Myers' middle name was Audrey. They said it about three times and my boyfriend heard Audrey as well.

Love it for a boy- I can't see it becoming popular. Just Aubrey Maximilian is a great, but I don't like Seamus.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the name Aubrey! It's definitely one of my favorites. I love the meaning, I love the sound I just... oh, it's wonderful!

Very nice. I think Seamus and Maximilian go well with Aubrey. :)

Unfortunately, if it continues to rise in popularity for females in the U.S., it looks unlikely. It'll probably be the next Ashley (though most likely not quite as popular). This is only a bad thing, IMO, because Aubrey will be considered a girls' name (this makes me mad. It's not even remotely unisex, and the meaning, combined with the Elvish king from Germanic mythology AND that the name is related to Alberic, is SO masculine. Couldn't the lovers of Aubrey on a girl take Audrey instead? It's similar in sound, a legit girls' name, and SO pretty. But that's just my little tangent. ;)
Heh. Sorry if I ranted a bit. But that's just how much I love the name. Your boyfriend has VERY good taste. :)

Aubrey is only a guy name to me, but I don't like it very much...
I love love love Aubrey on a boy it is one of my favorites. I hope it doesn't get too popular so that I can use it I also hope it doesn't get to popular for girls (which i fear it is). I love Aubrey Seamus although Maximillian is a bit much for me.
I love Aubrey! (& also Alberic) Its great to see it considered as a boys name, I tend to think of it as a boys name & so I hate to see it for girls. I think the combo Aubrey Seamus Maximilian flows really well although personally i'm not so fond of Seamus or Maximillian. Evy
I've only heard it on a girl, and she hated it. She knew it was a boys' name, and hated the elf king meaning.
I like it. Aubrey never became a girls' name where I live ... It's just a very occasionally used male name. But I don't hate it on a girl or anything - just prefer it on a boy.

Do you think Aubrey for a boy will become popular?
Probably not. Especially with Aubrey's rise on girls, the only way it will probably become popular on boys is if a famous male Aubrey comes around (or more people wise up and learn that Aubrey is supposed to be a boy's name). By the way, I strongly dislike Aubrey (but not Audrey) on girls.
I love it!

Its kind of like the name Paris for a boy, meaning I like it, its legit, very pretty & masculine, but I just don't know if I could use it!
I liked Paris for a boy until I found out that Michael Jackson used it.
I know (but the name is actually pretty : Paris Michael Katherine)
:)
:)
Aubrey is nms but I definitely prefer it on a boy. I think Aubrey Seamus Maximilian is a good combo although it could be a bit of a mouthful depending on how long the child's surname is. I'm not sure about Aubrey's future popularity with males but I would think it would be more likely to become popular with girls. In fact I've been following local birth announcements and Aubrey is enjoying modest popularity with baby girls while 0 baby boys were named Aubrey. I would attribute it to the fact Audrey is relatively popular this year and people are liking the similar sound to Audrey.
1. I love it for a boy. Hate it for a girl
2. Aubrey Seamus Maximilian is wonderful. I do prefer the spelling Séamus though
3. I hope so, but I doubt it unless a lot of people realise that Aubrey is a legit male name
