Elliot/Elliott/Eliot
What do you think of this name for a boy? And what spelling do you prefer? It's been on my mind lately.
Much appreciated,

I love it. Uncommon and distinctive and some great crusaders for the public good with that name (Ness, Spitzer). I guess I prefer Elliot.
I dislike it for some reason ... It sounds quite harsh to me, even though when I break it into sounds, it should actually be quite gentle. Hard to explain ... Eliot is the best spelling, imo. The double T gives a harsher, more surname-y look that I don't care for.
I love it. Prefer Eliot
I used to absolutely love this when I was 15-17 (I'm 23 now) and I loved the spelling Eliot. These days it's not a favourite - I've "gone off" surnamey names for boys - and I prefer Elliot because it seems more complete. I *don't* like the spelling Elliott because that extra 't' seems obsolete and makes it much too surnamey.
. . . so yeah, I like Eliot and Elliot but would never use either myself.

I think of Elliot Stabler from Law & Order: SVU. I like the character, so this is not a bad thing. :) It's also the name of my Geography teacher's son. I've seen pictures of him, and he's such a cutie. It's been growing on me a lot, though if I ever did use it, it would probably be as a mn. But we'll see. :)
I prefer the Elliot spelling. Elliott is quite nice too, but perhaps a bit too elaborate for me. Eliot looks incomplete, IMO.

I like the name, but it reminds me of a snotty little kid. I like Elliot the best.
I like the name, and I'd spell it Elliot. To me that is the least surnamey, most intuitive & phonetic spelling.

It's nice. I just was watching bedazzled so now Elliot is stuck in my head.
I'm not too fond of it, but I've always liked Elliott best. The other's looks incomplete to me.
I love it! Elliot is my favorite one, although any of those spellings are okay.
