Reilly is just as original as Riley, and it's just as much a surname, and almost as painfully butch and aggressive sounding on a girl.
If you're really that in love with that name for a girl, I'd say definitely use the spelling Reilly instead of Riley. But I don't really like it.
Edited to add: I think the reason why this name is so butch and aggressive sounding is not only that it's a surname, but that it contains the word 'rile' which has unpleasant connotations. People's impressions of names that have sound-cousins in the language really can be affected by them, I believe.

Anyway my gist was. Reilly better than Riley by a large margin. The best of all spellings.
