Gillian
What do you think of the name Gillian? It's been on my mind lately. I only like this spelling; I find it much more sophisticated than the Jillian spelling. What do you think of Gillie/Gilly (JIL-ee, not GIL-ee) as a nick name?

I know a girl named Gillian nn Gil or Gilly (she's 16 ... very bubbly)and she always gets GIL-ian. I like it though :-)

It always reminds me of the character from Practical Magic...in a good way. I like it!

I like it, but prefer Jillian.

I like the name. I'm neutral as to spelling it with a G or J; it's uncommon enough that some people are liable to mispronounce it when it's spelled with a G. However, Gillian Anderson has put the name in the spotlight and lent it a lot of positive qualities.Gilly or Gillie is cute. I prefer it with the Y. The nickname has even worse pronunciation issues, though. - chazda

Gillian/Jillian is one of my favorite names, either spelling. Gilly is a good nickname, but if she wrote it out everyone would pronounce it GIL-ee.
