Isobel?
I'm someone who really dislikes when names are spelt differently for the "creative touch" rather than common sense a.k.a Jeysika, Stef-Annie..etc.But I feel significatly drawn towards spelling Isabelle/Isabel as Isobel.I know a nice Isobel and I just like it spelt this way because it sounds less like you're trying to flaunt the fact that Isabel has the word 'belle' in it suggesting beauty. I don't like names that subjects beauty :\ not sure why.. anyways..What do you think of Isobel?

This has always been my favorite spelling too. I like that it is Scottish, actually. :) However, I always worried that people would think I didn't know how to spell a name if I used that spelling... :(... Plus my best friend is dead set on naming her first born daughter, Isabella.

Sorry I haven't read the other posts, but I'm almost certain that Isobel is the Scottish version of Isabel/Isabella and is not in the least 'made-up' or creative spelling. I much prefer Isobel to the other versions of the name.

I prefer Isabelle :)

Prefer Isobel, but I still like Isabel, since it doesnt have the actual word "belle" or "bella" in it.

One of my freinds had it on her favorites list for years though recently she has relegated it to the middle name slot, I have started to prefer Isobel rather than Isabel / Isabelle.
Though I expect one of the other posters has already said it I will say it anyway :)Isobel isnt a creative spelling its a Scottish form of Isabel.

I've already sent you a message because I obviously didn't know you'd ask this question here and on the interactive polls page, but Isobel isn't kre8iveleigh spelled. It's the Scottish version.

Isobel is very popular for older women where I live (Scotland), and they often pronounce it ISS-a-bul, not IZZ-a-bell. I'm sure most people will say it the same as Isabel these days.Honestly I'm just bored of the name in all forms. It is so overdone these days.

I myself prefer Isabel but the spelling Isobel is growing on me since I love Scottish names. Isobel stands out from all the other Isabels but it seems to be growing in popularity.

I prefer Isabel. I see belle in Isobel as well, so I dont understand why you prefer the o.

First of all Isobel is not a kre8tive spelling like Jeysika..., it is the Scottish spelling of Isabel.I love it, this name is fabulous and whilst I find the spellings Isabel and Isabelle overused, this one makesthe name unusual. My only fear is the associaion with Grey's anatomy's Isobel "Izzie" Stevens. Well, it's not a bad thing after all...Nice choice!

I like it spelled this way. I think (I may be wrong) that is spelled this way more than Isabel, in Spanish speaking countries.
