To me Oona is quirky, but not very pretty.

The first time I heard Fionnula, I liked it a lot. It is quirky and pretty, and I thought of using it for a character's name.

I love love love Oona, particularly spelled Oonagh. Fionnuala reminds me too much of a girl I know with the name, although it does have a nice sound to it.

I don't really care for Fionnuala, but Oona is beautiful!

Actually, I don't think I really hate to say it, but the name Finola as well as any of its variant spellings reminds me of Fistula...and that is definately something I would not liked to be reminded of everytime I call my child's name.
Oona isn't so bad, but I think people dislike the sound it gives.

Fionnuala and Oona (prefer Oonagh) are among my favorite Irish names for a girl.

That long "oo" sound is so elegant to my ears. When said with a real brogue the names have even more charm. (Here in the U.S. I seldom get the chance to hear them.)

For some reason, the way the name Fionnuala looks has always reminded me of some sort of cleaning liquid. For that reason, I have never liked it. However, that is a personal association, the origin of which is obscure even to myself, and the name does have the benefit of a cute nickname, Finn. But then, that brings up fish associations...perhaps I am overthinking this one.
