Alaina?
I really like the name Alaina but I can't decide which spelling is better. Alaina or Elena? I believe Alaina is the english spelling and Elena is spanish. What do you think of Alaina Louise? Any other suggestions for middle names?

This has probably been mentioned, but Alaina and Elena have two completely different origins. Alaina is the feminine form of Alain which is the French form of Alan. Elena is the Spanish, Italian, Russian, Romanian, etc., form of Helen.Alaina Louise runs together too much for my tastes. WDYT of:Alaina Charlotte
Alaina Catherine
Alaina Corinne
Alaina Caroline
Alaina Gabrielle
Alaina Joy
Alaina Juliet
Alaina Margaret
Alaina Sophia

I prefer Elena. Louise is very nice with it.

I like Alaina better, but Elena is best if you are planning on calling her Ellie or Lena. I love Alaina Louise!

I prefer the Spanish variant of it - somehow I think the possibility of mispronunciation will be lessened if it's spelt Elena. Plus it looks prettier that way, in my opinion.Alaina Louise is a very nice combo, btw.

I really like both, but I slightly prefer Elena because it looks less "Americanized", KWIM?

I adore both Alaina and Elena equally, but I've noticed that many people I meet seem to pronounce Elena as eh-LEE-na.

Alaina to me is a form of Alain / Alan while Elena is a form of Helen so I see them as totally different names.
Of the two I prefer Elena
