Just don't let her go to Australia....Someone named Devon would get some funny looks in Australia. Here it's our name for baloney, or whatever else you want to call it - that lunchmeat made out of assorted animals.

That must be an Eastern States thing, I've never heard it!

I like the name Devon for both genders (this is on my list of names that I like either way).

I grew up with a girl named Devan, so to me the -an spelling is very feminine. Devon and Devin look too masculine to my eyes.

I don't like Devon for a boy or a girl. The first Devon I knew, however, was a girl, so I tend to think of it as more feminine.

*sighs* I am so sick of the unisex name; there are plenty of girls' names on this website. You don't have to snatch a boy's name and use it on a girl since we have too much unused girls' names.

I really like it. I like it much more on a girl than a boy.

I don't like Devon (or any of the other spellings...) for a girl, nor do I like it for a boy. It's not something I find attractive in either the way it sounds or the way it looks.

I like the spelling Devin, Devan or Devyn better. Devon makes it look like "Dev-On" not "Dev-In" which is how I would pronounce it.

I think it's incredibly trendy sounding.I used to really like Devon for a boy, but I got over that when I left middle school. ;)Array

Actually...I saw it on a grocery store cashier a few weeks ago, and it popped out at me as kind of nice for a girl. It's not my style, of course, but okay for someone else, KWIM? My Mum's friend Joy has 5 daughters- Alexis, Laura, and, among the other two (whose names I can't remember), Devon. I also knew a girl whose name was spelled Devyn, and a boy named Devin.

I personally prefer the sp Devin. The un sound at the end sounds really harsh to me, especially for a girl. I really like Devin for a boy though, but I dont hate it for a girl. I guess its one of Kris' True Unisex names.
