If the girl in question is Chinese and has a Chinese nlast name, Cho works fine. Most Chinese people have a two-part first name, so a Cho wouldn't likely just be Cho. She'd probably be Cho Mei Chang or something (Apologies to JK Rowling.)
However, Cho wold seem very short and alsoextremely unusual on a non-Chinese girl with a nonChinese last name. Cho Goldberg, Cho Williams, Cho Martinez, Cho Abu-Hassan, you get the picture.
If you don't have a Chinese last anem, I'd stick to using Cho as a mn, if I used it at all.
