Magdalene is cool. Very underused in this country. I pronounce it the way you do, and would probably spell the name Magdalen in order to prevent confusion. Maggie would be a cute nn.

It's pretty but a little to heavy for me. It used to be a favorite, but there are too many things about it that go against my fundamental naming instincts -- it's seriously Biblical, and it will likely be given a NN I dislike (Maggie). I could like it for someone else.

I like it. To me, Magdalene is MAG-dah-leen and Magdalen is MAG-dah-len.
