Ligia
I'm curious as what you guys think of the name, and how you would pronounce it. I doubt very much I'd ever use it, but there is a girl in one of my classes named it. (She pronounces it lee-HE-a, however)

lee-HEE-a sounds like an ethnic pronunciation. Is she portuguese by any chance?
I'd pronouce it LIG-ee-a, which totally turns me off. lee-HEE-a is nice, though.

I thought of Li-jee-uh when I first saw it. I don't really like it.
I'd say LIDGE (like ridge)-ee-ah, and find that to be very ugly. I'm not fond of lee-HE-ah either. It looks nice, though.
Pronounced that way, it sounds Hawaiian, quite pretty. But I think it was found to be Latin?
My first reaction was that it was pronounce lih-JIE-ah, which isn't too attractive. lee-HE-a or lee-JEE-a sounds much better.
My friend's name is Ligeia, she says it Lie-gee-uh.
Ligia is the Portuguese form, it's pronounce LAH-GSHEE-UH
ETA: i love the name Ligeia better, i would totally use it too due to my friend.

I prefer and actually really like Ligeia with its G prn. This, I'm not so fond of.
