omgI have a good friend named Bevin, so I like it. Never thought I'd hear (see) it anywhere else

I know one, she is an interesting character and she was never hindered by the name growing up. However, she really is not my cup of tea and turns me off the name as can often happen when one only knows one person with a particular name. However (again), she is one of the reason I do enjoy some different names - its cool that when someone talks about Bevin, they're just talking about her.

I prefer it spelled Bevan and only like it for a boy because IMO its a very masculine name.

I find it too masculine for a girl (I know it's not a male name but it is very close to Bevan which is.)And CN is right, it was a goverment minister, Ernest Bevin, (as was Aneurin Bevan, both in the same Cabinet in the 1940s, very confusing.)

I actually think of a Brittish minister for social insurance. I wouldn't name a girl Bevin. For a boy it's ok.

Sorry, I forgot to ask, are you using this as a girls name? Because I consider it a girls name. But I heard it could be used as a boys name. Sorry I forgot to ask. Well anyways I like this name for a girl. I think it is cute :)
