WDYTO Geneva?
I thought it was kind of pretty, and I love that it can have nn's such as Ginny or Eva. I thought it was also a good substitute because I don't like the name Genevieve for some reason. WDYT? Does it have to much of a trendiness to it?

I kind of like it. It has this nice sound to it!
However, since I am from Switzerland and Geneva is a city in Switzerland (that I do not particularly like) I would never use it. It would be way too awkward. I dislike place names in general.

I like Geneva a little more than Genevieve. I don't find either to be trendy, though. I don't care for Ginny so much but I love Eva or Evie as a nn. :)

Honestly?
First thing that I think of is the Geneva Conventions (not bad maybe, but not something I'd name a girl after).
After that I just think of the city, so it is just a place-name, and I'm not too keen on those.
Sorry.

I like it, but ever since I went to Lake Geneva in Wisconsin that's the first thing I think of...Eva's pretty by itself, too.

Like you I don't care for Genevieve but I like Geneva. My only qualm with Geneva is that it's a bit too placenamey for my taste and I'm reluctant to use the name of a place of which I have little knowledge. I think Ginevra and Genevra are nice substitutes for Genevieve as well.

I agree completely!Geneva is very pretty, but I generally dislike the idea of city names unless the cities were named after people. Ginevra, however, is drop-dead gorgeous!

The mother of a friend of mine is a Geneva, and I always thought her name was very nice.I wouldn't use it, but I wouldn't mind seeing it. Use the nn Ginny, though--much more attractive than Eva.Array

Geneva's pretty. I agree with you though, I just can't bring myself to like Genevieve (that just took me like 30 seconds to spell).I don't think it has trendiness at all, and I love the nickname Eva.

Gah, I cant help it, but for some reason I hate that extra VVV sound at the end. Sounds so harsh.

Had no clue that Geneva was back! Have a great aunt named that, and if it weren't for the name conjuring up thoughts of her wearing bright blue eye shadow, and using lipstick as rouge, it could actually be really pretty!
