The only Carissa I knew was one of the borderline Special Ed. kids, and she was always extremely rude. She's soured me on the name.Clarisse and Clarissa, however, are wonderful.Array

Way too frilly for me. Too trendy too, as the "-issa" ending has been done too death. Carissa makes me think of a spoiled rich girl.

I prefer Clarissa

I like it - probably wouldn't use it - but it's a good name.

I don't think it's too frilly at all. It sounds quite strong to me. I knew a girl named Karisa once, but I much prefer this spelling (Carissa).

I LOVE Carissa- enough that I named my daughter it. She's 2, Carissa Michelle. I like that it's unique, but not "out there" or odd. Plus, it means 'beloved' How sweet!
