Sullivan
I was wondering... What kind of person do you think about when you hear the name Sullivan?
Do you like the name? Why (not)?

Courageous & handsome.
Sullivan is one of my secret favourites. I am disinclined to use it because of the surname factor, but otherwise I'm really fond of it!

Sullivan nn Sully is one of the few surname names I really like. I had a good friend in HS whose surname was Sullivan and everyone called him Sully, so it reminds me of him-- kind of a rebellious, free-spirited guy who does what he pleases but is very compassionate about what he does. I think, however, it could work equally well for a collar-up-prep-school type of guy too, so it really runs the gamut for me.
A strong, sturdy boy.
I think Sullivan falls into the surname-as-a-first-name-slot, but I really like it. I can see it on a boy more, but the nn Sully would work on both imo. (I really like Sully!)
I'm assuming you mean for a boy, but I know a little girl with this name. Her sister is named Sutton. :-/
For a boy, it's tolerable but way too surname-y for me. Sully would be a cute nn, though. :)

Sullivan makes me think of the movie 'Monster's Inc', the main 'character' was called Sullivan, "Sully". It's also a surname where I live.
I can only see it as a last name.
Me four.
Me three.
Me, too.
I love it...Sullivan makes me think of a well travel, attractive young European man.
I was wondering... What kind of person do you think about when you hear the name Sullivan? an Irish guy, who's into himself
Do you like the name? Why (not)? I hate it. My sister's ex Patrick Sullivan was into himself, and annoying. I never liked both names since.

I like the name alot, its on my favs list. I think of a tall, dark haired, dark featured man, who does alot of sport and has a friendly nature
I like Sullivan nn Sully. I think of a big, sweet, rugged guy.
I think of a big hairy monster from Monsters Inc.. Then I think of the song "Sullivan" by Caroline's Spine--about the Fighting Sullivans, five brothers from Iowa who all died together during WWII. Very depressing song. Great, but depressing.
Sullivan on a child today sounds like typical pseudo-boho fare to me.
