Estelle sounds like pastel.(why I prefer Stella)

I love my name. I get really good reactions to it because it's kind of exotic-sounding and it's feminine and pretty. Estelle is, I agree, a bit dated. It reminds me of George's mom on Seinfeld. Haha anyway I vote Naomi.

Naomi wins for me, the only thing I don't like about it is it tends to remind me of Naimi Watts, or whantever her last name may be.It's a beutiful name!

I like Naomi better

Naomi is very pretty, but there is something about it that pust me off. I think I dislike the way the syllables sound individually. "Nay" and "ome" are not very nice sounding to me.

Estelle always reminds me of a character I hated in Great Expectations, although I think she was actually named Estella. That said, it's my favourite of all the "-elle" names. I don't really like any other "-elle" names.

Naomi is beautiful and differnt.

I like that Naomi looks exotic, I think it's the use of so many vowels. I also like the soft sound that Naomi has. I can't think of any bad people with the name Naomi. It does feel very feminine also, which for me, is a good thing.
I like the meaning of Estelle. I'm not sure that I like what it looks like quite as well as Naomi. I like the "elle" sound on the end. It has a curving soft feel. This name feels more elegant than Naomi. I do think that Estelle can sounds slightly haughty. Estelle feels less graceful and older. I also think of the word "stale" for some reason when I hear this name.

I like Naomi, in that I think of a strong and enduring woman, as of in the bible. It sounds more exotic than Estelle, and slightly less likely to find in a nursing care facility.
when I think of Estelle, I just think old. Like Estelle Getty on Golden Girls. Its maening is pretty, but it isn't fresh sounding like its counterpart, stella.
