Lucy/ Lucille
Replies
I think that it's fine to use Lucy as a full name, but I'm not really a fan of this name because it sounds cutesy and lacks substance. Lucille is ok, but not really my style either. How about Lucia? It's beautiful, sophisticated sounding, and permits Lucy as a nickname.

I prefer Lucy by itself
I think that Lucy is nice as a name on its own, and doesn't need a longer form in my opinion if you prefer it as such (I like it either way).
I don't like either name, but I don't see anything wrong with using Lucy as a full name. It's been done for so long it is a full name in its own right.
i wouldn't use either. Overall I prefer Lucy as a nn because it seems to lack something as a given name.
I've liked both for a long time. I named a stuffed dog Lucy when I was eleven or so. Nowadays, I'd be hesitant to use it on its own because it does seem so NNy. I like Lucille, especially as a MN right now. There are a lot of really lovely Luc- names to pick from, too. Lucia, Lucinda, Lucrezia (even though it's a hard C, it could work), etc.
