Re: Melissa
Melissa is on a different timescale where I live - it wasn't popular at all for girls my age (I'm 20 now) but it came into the top 1000 in the 90s and is still going strong. It doesn't feel dated to me (though one day it probably will) and I find it very pretty. I really dislike Mel, which is an obvious downside, but Lissy would be lovely. Missy sounds bratty to me for some reason.I had a best friend named Melanie in high school and she was the only one I knew. It reminds me of "Gone with the Wind" as well. I like it best as Melany.
