LOVE Helena!
but would rather see Eleni, Elen, Elina, or even Alayna then Elaine. Elaine seems frumpy to me.

I really dislike Elaine...it is dated and not ready for a comeback yet. That being said, I adore the nn Lainey or Laine.
I love Helena, especially with the nn Leni. Gorgeous!I don't think Casey could work as a nn for Catherine

Elaine is very nice! I prefer Elena, though, and also like Eleni (EH-leh-nee).I love Helena, preferably said HEL-eh-nah, but I like heh-LAY-nah too.Casey is really pushing it as a nickname for Catherine, but you could probably pull it off.

I like Elaine too. :)I personally don't think Casey works with Catherine, but Caitlin or something might work.

I like Elaine well enough. It's a little dated but the cute nn, Lainey, more than makes up for that.I like Helena so matter how it's pronounced. I am Elena (eh-LAY-na) yet I tend to say HELEN-a first and then he-LAY-na. What's really weird is how I heartily dislike Helen but really like Helena. It looks beautiful written down, doesn't it?

Elaine and Helena are both lovely names (I suggest pronouncing the later as "he-LAY-na"). Elaine is a beautiful, classic name, so I can't blame you for liking it.

Elaine isnt bad - which is pretty good coming from me on a girls name.Helena is another story in my mind. No matter how you pn it, I can only see Hel which I truly dislike for obvious reasons. Just looking at the pn and saying it to myself without looking at the spelling, I still wonder the appeal. Overall, simply stated, I do not like it.
