The new celeb babies on the block
P Diddy, Puff daddy, Sean Combs, whatever he's going by now welcomed his twin girls to the world this morning. He and GF Kim Porter named them D'Lila Star (after Kim's gma Lila) and Jessie James (after Diddy's gma Jessie). I don't even know what to think. lol. They also have an 8 year old son Christian. At least there's one name I like, even though it's been getting pretty popular.

Jessie James for a girl! How awful...Jesse James is the guy from West Coast Choppers who is dating Sandra Bulloch.

Even though I posted to the topic beneath this one...Jessie James is really starting to grow on me which is sort of scary because I hated it when I first saw it. I think Jessie is so cute and I like the spelling Jessy too. I also like Star.

Ugh. Why couldn't they have gone with Delilah or just Lila? And Jessie James...not my style. Then again, I don't like Christian, either.

I don't mind that they are somewhat named after their great-grandmothers, but the names they used to "honor" them could've been so much nicer, IMO. Lila is beautful, and Star and Jessie are fine. But to stick a D and an apostrophe in front of Lila to try and make it into Delilah is ridiculous, I think. And Jessie could've been stretched into something sweet like Jessamine, Jessa, or Jessamy...hell, even Jessica would've been nicer than sticking the name JAMES in there. Ah, yes, let's name our sweet baby girl after a gunfighter/outlaw. :-/

Jessie James is way too masculine if you ask me. Lila or Delilah would have been fine, but I really dislike D'Lila. Christian is ok, but not one that I would use.

Well, Jessie is the normal feminine spelling of the name, and it's great she's named after his grandmother, but I do think using the middle name James is "too cute."D'Lila Star seems OK to me; wouldn't be at all unusual in the African-American community, and I like to link to his mother.

The idea is sweet.Naming after grandmothers--who'da thunk it could turn out so badly?Lila Star and Jessie Somethingelse would both be great, if not really my style. Even Lila Star and Jessie James would be. After all, she's not going to be going by Jessie James Combs all the time (God willing). I don't mind masculine names so much in the middle name slot--I don't think there should be any rules about middle names, really, since they're so rarely used in America.Christian's really nice. For me, the fact that James is a masculine name doesn't even bother me in this context. It's that basically their baby daughter's fn and mn make up the fn and ln of a very (in)famous historical figure, who happens to be male also. :-/

They are all disappointing to one extent or another.D'Lila would be good spelled differently.
I like Christian, can't mess that up too much. Or...can you? o.o

DLila Star is a great name for a porno actress: "Buy the new DVD of "Nonstop Naked Naughtiness!" Starring DLila and Jenna Jamison!" lol
Jessie James. Guess they really wanted a boy, huh? And what is the attraction of the name Jess(i) James? I have seen it used so often. It's like naming a kid John Dillinger (Dylanger, if we're getting trendy) or Bonnie Parker.
