Valerie
Just curious, what does everyone think of Valerie?

I like it a lot. It's one of those older names that still sounds appealing and youthful.

Makes me think of a Valley Girl. :-/ And also of the 70s. :b But I wouldn't be upset at all to see a baby girl with this name nowadays.

I like it - it's a very pretty, "strong" name. I would use it as a middle name.

It's a nice name, but a bit too common for me.

Hmm, I've only known male Vals so it really has that masculine feel to me, which is probably not the norm.Anywhoo, I quite like Mallory (even with its meaning) but Valerie really doesn't do it for me.

Valerie is my daughter's name, so that should tell you something. :)

I like it on someone else's child. I don't dislike it, but I find it a tad boring for my own. I also really, really dislike the NN Val, and I'd fear that. Overall, though, a nice enough choice.Magnanimous Despair alone could show me so divine a thing, where feeble hope could ne'er have flown, but vainly flapped its tinsel wing.

I love Valerie. I know two, both of whom strike me as wonderful, creative people, and I think of Valerie Susan Page when I hear it, too. :)Array

It reminds me of the Beetles song, "Valerie" "I love my Val-erie..." It's ok.Lovin' Lily Rose, Rose Maria, Alexandria Summer, and Evangeline Rose for girls. For guys: Derrick James, Scott Evan, Alan Shane, and Adam Shane

Let's just put it this way: if Valerie were a cup of tea, I'd have to add lots of sugar, milk and perhaps a lemon or two before I'd like it. :)

Spicing it up..(m)How about Valeria or Valeriana? Or are those perhaps a little too much? I personally prefer 'plain old' Valerie, but to me the name isn't plain or bland at all because I have a real soft spot for those almost 'old lady-ish' names.

LMAO . . .Nice description, and when you put it that way, that describes exactly how I feel about it too. It's just too 'blah' for me.

*nods*Oh my, for the remainder of the night I'm probably in danger of describing names/combos using food examples, LOL.It didn't help that I had a nice cup of Vanilla Hazelnut tea in front of me as I typed (that needed a spot of sugar and milk, no joke). XD

You have definitely made me thirst for tea now . . . :)

You must drink tea then!I had about six cups of iced tea at the holiday party today at my workplace. When I got home, I was iced out. Hot tea is a perfect way to wind down your day. Besides, people keep giving me boxes of tea because they know I love the stuff and now I have two cabinets devoted to the likes of tea. So, I need to drink it so I don't have to throw it away! :)
