Elliot
I would really like some opinions on this name.
It's not very common where I live and would like to know about its popularity and any general associations.
Also, opinions on Nicholas?
And any combo suggestions for the two names would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

I love it, spelled Elliott. It's in my favorite combo - Theodore Elliott.
Nicholas is nice enough - I dislike all the nicknames for it though.
Loving Theodore Elliott and Chava Louise!

Elliot is a nice name. Nicholas is decent, but very overused. It would be a good middle name though. Elliot Nicholas would work.
BTW I dislike the nn Nick, but I like Cole as nn for Nicholas.

When I hear Elliot, I think of Cass Elliot, the reason I loved it when I was in middle school. It hasn't been on my favourites list for about seven years, but I was quite fond of it, back in the day. I also hear T. S. Eliot in it, and since I love Prufrock, that's a good thing.
Nicholas isn't one of my favourites--I prefer Nicodemus, which I've loved for ages, too. It's strong and respectable, though--and everyone loves St. Nick, right? ;)
No combo ideas at the moment--my brains' a bit fried. :(

I want to be be more like a river--
Less like a wall--
Not trying to hold back these feelings at all.
A revolution without dancing is a revolution not worth having.

I like Elliot fairly well, it's a nice masculine sounding name that brings a fairly youthful image with it to my mind. It also has a bit of a corperative edge feel to it, like a lawyer or high power buisnessman sound to it. My immediate association is it's use as a surname for Anne Elliot, the heroine of Jane Austen's novel Persuasion which is one of my favorites. It also makes me think of Elliot in the movie E.T. and then also of Billy Elliot. I prefer the spelling Elliott because it seems more complete to me but either is nice.
Nicholas is a very strong masculine name with a little bit of regal edge to it. It also has a kind sound to it and is a bit popular.
Combos:
Elliot William
Elliot James
Elliot Cole
Elliot Patrick
Elliot Miles
Elliot Dominic
Elliot Oliver
Elliot Thomas
Elliot Jake
Elliot David
Elliot Sebastian
Elliot Owen
Elliot Corbin
Elliot Wesley
Elliot Jared
