Re: Miley
in reply to a message by Crista
Sorry, but I think Miley is an awful name. It's cutesy and precious, and only popular because of Miley Cyrus. And it's not even her real name. It's a nickname. In fact, it's a nickname derived from a nickname. It's short for Smiley. It's one of those names that doesn't sound dignified at all and looks absurd on anyone over the age of twelve.
If you must use it, Christina or Sofia would be nice middle names, as they are both classic, mature names that balance out the trendy sweetness of Miley.

I completly agree
And I dont see the appeal of being named after a celebrity. Expecially one with a uncommon (or in this case- made up) name.
If the celebrity has a fairly common name, that other kids would also have, then it doesnt bug me.

I may not be perfect
But at least I am free

I agree about Miley, and I'm sure we'll see more of it now, though, since Miley Cyrus has become popular. *rolls eyes*
I actually know a Miley (not positive on the spelling--might by Mylie) who's in her mid-40s. She went to high school with my sister and I took care of her daughter (Chantelle) when I worked at a day care. She was the only person I'd ever heard of with the name before hearing of the name Maile, and now Miss Cyrus.
