I like it very much for a boy, and I don't think it's been taken over by the girls. But oddly enough, it's sort of a GP name for me on a girl. I think because I see it as a nature (tree) name, so it can go either way but I still more prefer it for a boy. :)

I love Rowan on both boys & girls, it strikes a very sophisticated balance IMHO.

I like the name Rowan for a boy (it's one of my favorites), and I don't see it as being too feminine. This name is not my style for a girl though.

I love the name Rowan! As for using it on a boy or girl, I think it's flexible enough to go both ways. I'm starting to like the name Rohan for a girl, too. But overall, it's masculine enough to use on a boy. :)
