WDYT of the name Violet. I like the nickname Vi espicially. The only problem is that most people associate the name Violet with a quiet person, which i am not. Top 12 namesEmma, Emily, Anna, Elizabeth, Erica, Charlotte, Catherine, Chealsea, Jennifer, Jessica, Jocelyn.

I like Violet, but the only Violet I know is loud, outgoing and bubbly. Also, don't expect your kids to be just like you...

Violet is a very pretty name, though I don't think I'd use it, myself. There's something about it that is appealing to me, and it's a flower name that is definitely underused. Nice, classy sound to it! :-)

I really like this name. When thinking about names for our baby I had this in mind. My great-grandma's middle name was Viola, which means Violet. I thought Violet would be a nice option. Also the fact that baby is due in February and the flower for that month is Violet.

Well, the name's not for *you*.Does it matter if you're a quiet person? Your child isn't going to be a carbon cut-out of you.I like Violet a lot, though not enough to use.Array

I think the quiet Violet association comes from the saying "a shrinking violet". I don't think of a quiet person, necessarily. It seems colorful and fun. A very nice floral name. "most people associate the name Violet with a quiet person, which i am not. "
