I love this name! It was popular in the 80's, and you could classify it as dated. However, I happen to like popular names. I bet you are about 20 years, a litte more, a little less.

I love the name Lauren. I think its wears very well. I know a 45 yo, a 25yo, a 13 yo, and a 5yo all with that name. I think it fits each on of them perfectly, despite the fact that their personalities differ greatly.
I personally don't think you need to change it, but if you want to, by all means, go ahead.

I would guess you were born in the early to mid-80's, but then again we have Lauren Becall. If you despise your name, then by all means change it. But don't do it just because it's popular. You can make the name unique to anyone who knows you just by being unique yourself. Besides, if you're going to have a widely-used name, at least it's one that doesn't seem too dated.
