Well to me it is rather posh, very elegant, and a bit old-fashioned. The first thing I think of is an older lady, very upright and elegant and proper. I think that parents giving this name to their daughter would most likely honoring a relative. I think Pearl might be very sweet on a little girl though perhaps a bit heavy. Pearlie would make a cute nickname in that case and might lighten the name a bit. I personally like Pearl better as a middle name, it's one of my favorites: Amy Pearl, Amelia Pearl, Jocelyn Pearl, Julia Pearl, Lydia Pearl. WDYT?
