What's strange about the name Ireland is that it's often used with the idea of honoring Ireland in some way. But why use the English name for Ireland as a tribute to Ireland? No Irish person would use Ireland as a name. That's what "Erin" is for. So while I can see it's appeal, sound-wise... it's just a strange, strange idea for a name, IMO. I'd keep it as GP.
